Thomas Mores Sainthood Essay - 1303 Words

Thomas Mores Sainthood Thomas Mores sainthood has been under great controversy even after a century of his death. It was not until 1866 that he was declared a saint. This declaration came about after many debates and votes of acceptance both by the people and by the church. While the English Church was still bound by King Henry VIIIs Supremacy Act, Thomas More was rumored to have been a deceitful character of the court. He was declared unorthodox who went against the Church (Roper, 1935). He was also said to have gone against the doctrines of the church because he went against the King of England. In modern times the portrayal of, partially, Richard the III and Thomas More is seen to be compassionate and kind to their people. Morally, he was obligated to protect his friend and King for he was the chancellor of the court. Religiously he had a duty to God which he could not deny. He did not want to go against Gods rules; therefore, he chose the middle course. Despite all of this, he was prosecuted and killed. MORES RELIGIOUS BELIEFS There seems to be little doubt that More did consider at one point becoming a priest. In this play More says, Gods my god...But I find him rather too subtle.... I dont know where He is or what He wants. When his sentence was read out, More spoke freely and revealed that he was totally unable to see the sense of the oath of supremacy. I am able to produce against one bishop which you can produce, a hundred holy and Catholic bishops for my opinion; and against one realm, the consent of Christendom for a thousand years. (Bolt, 63) This conflict with the Church, and his feelings towards the holy bishop shows that he was attached to his beliefs. Perhaps the contradiction between the two great men (Richard and More) originated within the church. By not obeying King Henry, he also fell from the kings list of good men. Is Faster Economic Growth a Good Thing Free Essays

Economics growth has been studied in differences camps. economics, environmentalist and sociologist have been debating years about the causes and effects of this one, it is a fact that economic growth is link with life quality and the first one can affect the second one in positive and negative ways, this essay will expose a number of advantages and disadvantages of a rapid economic growth. We will write a custom essay sample on Is Faster Economic Growth a Good Thing? or any similar topic only for you Order Now The concept of â€Å"economic growth† 50 years ago was quite different from the concept nowadays, before, the concept focus on the industrialization and the economy of the country, until the seventies decade when the professor Dudley Seers introduces the concept with strong consequences in equality, unemployment rate, etc. Economic growth, it is describe in different economic dictionaries as â€Å"an increase in the  capacity of an economy to produce goods and services,  compared  from one  period of time to another†. And it is an important part in the development of the economy to permit the right utilization of the goods and the improvement of living standards; however, there are some cases that â€Å"economic growth† it is not a steeply process making a rapid economic growth which brought some positives and negatives consequences for the society. One advantage of the â€Å"growth†, it is definitely the fact that governments can reduce or eliminate the money borrowing, due to the tax revenue is higher and also there is less money spend on benefits for unemployed people, then there is an greater inversion in public services and education, which are important aspects in the measure of the development of a country. An increasing of outputs because of the growth, will generate that companies start to employ more and more workers to supply the necessities of the costumer, reducing the level of unemployment and at the same time making higher incomes, giving the opportunity to get more and better quality goods for consumers It is part of this phenomenon that consumer demand is going to increase leading to an increase as well in the investment this one can be implanted in different ways, one important is â€Å"technology† and innovations making easier and cheaper the production. conomic growth it is working as well improving the business confident making this one more interesting for international investment, this one has also a strong relationship with the unemployment mention before due to the investment will rise the level of employment and incomes. These group of advantages are a clearly prove of how important it is a rapid economic growth for the society, improving the life quality and making business profitable which increase the employment rate and income levels, we can find an example of this if we study the economy of some Asian country where a rapid economic growth produce that the percentage of people living with $1 a day decrease 12% from 1990 to 2004, however, there are some risks that we have to consider when the economy growth too quickly. When the process of economic growth is too quickly or â€Å"unsustainable† the results are not always good, one disadvantage of this kind of growth is the inflation that is the situation when the average of demand is higher than the average of supply leading an increase in the price of services and goods which is dangerous for the economy because it can be a reduccion in the real value of the money then an inflationary growth could stimulate a recession in the economy. Also if the economic growth is caused by an increase in the customer spending, causing a rise in the level of imports this one can be higher than the level of exports producing a deficit follow by balance of payments problems. Another problem of economic growth is that this one can increase inequality income and wealth, because sometimes all the benefit of the growth does not have a right distribution, economics measure that by the â€Å"Gini co-efficient† ant this have a big impact in the society such as corruption and regional, also the gap between rich and poor people can become bigger. A different negative factor of economic growth is the big impact of this one on the environment, According to Booth (1991, p. 552), the† long-run economic growth relies on the creation of new industries and new forms of economic activity, these new forms of economic activity create new kinds of environmental problems† and this problems are becoming worse every day, this is because the level of production and consumption of non renewable recourses has increases the same than the level of air pollution, waste, etc. Basically these are in general some of the advantages and disadvantages of a repid economic growth and we can see that this one play and important role in the increase of the life quality however is not coming risk free, the inequalitie of income a wheat can make an effect in the society the same that the enviroment effects, the important point is that we have to take actions of this a possible way to do it is the sustainable development that is defined In 1987 by the Bruntland Commission n Environment and Development as:†development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs†. Automobile Club in Bangladesh

Question: Write an essay on Automobile Club in Bangladesh? Answer: Introduction There is a growing demand among the local residents of Dhaka in Bangladesh to start an automobile club. This following automobile club will serve as a common platform for every car enthusiast of Bangladesh for sharing the ideas and knowledge about varieties of cars. This automobile club shall be opened for specific age group of members. Here people shall also have the opportunity to acquire the basic skills of driving along with handling both domestic and international cars. There are already automobile clubs in different countries and in order to keep pace with them we have decided to start our own automobile club in the country. Basic Requirements In order to begin this particular automobile club, every leading member needs to dedicate and devote sufficient time at the national and local levels. There must be the provision of organizational meeting in this newly established automobile club that shall include minimum five members on periodic and annual basis to discuss various important issues that might affect the interests of this club. It is not essential for the members to possess iconic club vehicle for joining this club. They can become a member on the basis of their personal commitments also (State n.d.). Before the establishment of such automobile club it is essential for the club founders to decide on the types of services and benefits that shall be offered to those who once acquired the membership of the organization. Members must use the resources available in online platforms to keep themselves organized with every legal document before launching such club. Founders of the club must hire or do have the ability to develop and maintain any local website of the club. There are plenty of club websites that are freely available in the public domain. Once establishing the automobile club, the authorities must try to establish rapport with the local dealer for receiving help regarding discounts and sponsorship. Awareness must be generated among the residents of Dhaka regarding the benefits of joining or starting this particular automobile club. Efforts must be generated at the international and national levels to access resources for this club. These may include hiring special car mechanics, driving instructors and so on (Biz Journals 2010). Founding members of the automobile club must attempt to secure the affiliation seals and logos of the relevant administrative bodies to present themselves before the people as the supported club. They can also look for the patronage of any rich people or organization in Bangladesh to create an impact among the people of Dhaka. Once securing the essential recognition, members should frame a specific direction to mark the level of participation, activities and involvement as per the requirements of the association. This specific automobile club must be brought under the coverage of insurance to safeguard its future from all types of problems. For that it is necessary to be in touch with relevant insurance companies to obtain best compensation for future damages. Starting the Club People who are members of different automobile clubs unanimously agree in one matter. They consider such associations to be the meeting place of the people of diverse backgrounds. But while it comes to starting such club the following aspects must taken into consideration. These are summarized in prescribed steps mentioned below: Step 1: Establishing of the goal of the automobile club It is up to the conscience of the founding members of the club to decide whether to focus on any specific car type or car belonging to general interest. Based on that, participants shall decide whether to join this club or not. The goal must be specific when it comes to mentioning about the model, age and make of the cars. It is better to enumerate the goal in written form in the club charter for obtaining better response from the participants. Without setting any fixed goal, candidates may find it suspicious of its motives and refrain from joining it (Nec Classic Motor Show 2015). Step 2: Scheduling of a meeting Search a spot for first meeting to finalize a time and date. Majority of the new members will seek to arrive with cars and so proper accommodation arrangement must be made in advance. It is better to utilize any commercial parking site for accommodating such vast gathering. Without making such proper arrangement the meeting may end up in chaos and pandemonium and to avoid that use the best possible means. Step 3: Club promotion Let the formation of this particular automobile club be known to all. For that it is essential to advertise about such formation in details and encourage people to inform it to their nearby acquaintances. Founding members can place the advertisement in the website or can post in the mail address of the car enthusiasts in Dhaka. It is important to be mentioned in detail regarding the membership charge and other miscellaneous costs as they play a vital role in promoting any clubs. Without mentioning these details in the advertisement, people may think of the possibility of imposing hidden costs. Step 4: Holding meeting for the new members After the formation of this new automobile club of Dhaka, authorities must extend their arms openly to welcome potential and new members. They must elaborate on detail what are the aims and objectives, requirements, restrictions and expectations of the participants from this newly established automobile club of Dhaka. They should also speak about the leadership and management of this automobile club in detail. Step 5: Acquiring accreditation from competent bodies Majority of the automobile clubs shall offer accreditation documents of well known local clubs. So this particular automobile club must also do the same in order to enjoy different types of benefits in the form of patronage and local sponsorships. It can also get help for promoting and publicizing their services and other packages much easily through incurring less expenditure. How it works? Some these cars are given to us free of cost as the automakers want to have feedbacks on the driving experience of the car enthusiasts of their vehicles. Though we have established this automobile club in Dhaka but we are also planning to open its branches in other locations like Chittagong, Sylhet, Bogra, Khulna and many more. People seeking to acquire the membership of this club must be within the middle of 30 to 40 years and must be male (Road Side Assistance Services Review, n.d.). Points are normally determined on the basis of the popularity of the car, its staying durations with the members and reservation timing. For booking any car, the member must make an immediate call to state when his requirement durations and period of return. In our club, a member shall line up all the cars that usually involve shifting 3 or 4 other vehicles around limited space. He mainly notes the fuel level, mileage as well as checks the damage in any car. Members must return their cars with same gas amount in tanks during the time of booking it. Our automobile club in Dhaka shall only give cars to its registered members only and that too on the basis of advanced booking. Our club will never act on the basis of the recommendation of any member when it comes to recommending any unknown individual to offer our cars. Spread Of Islam Essay Example For Students

Spread Of Islam Essay Islam is known as one of the fastest-expanding religions in history. Only contained in Arabia in 632, its conquests led to its expansion to Persia and Egypt by 656, and to Africa, Spain, and other parts of Persia by 750. Many methods were used in order to spread to such an extensive empire. Muslims were very reasonable people. They were tolerant, and offered many alternatives to the other religions of conquered lands. Mohammed once stated that another religion can either believe in Islam, or pay to keep his own religion. He would give the religions protection in exchange for obedience. Mohammed, however, threatens the lives of children or elders related to those who did not obey (Document1). This was one of his most powerful methods of obtaining new lands. We will write a custom essay on Spread Of Islam specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Another method used by Mohammed was that he offered many reasons to other religions as to why they should convert to Islam. First and foremost, he offered them direction and guidance to heaven, which, alongside Muslims, was an eagerly anticipated place by Christians and Jews (Document 2). The writer of History of Arabs (Document 3) describes the Muslim people as those who consider each other equals under Allah, and who worship him to the fullest. They would rather be in heaven with him than a child under him on earth. The expansion of Islam was also obviously obtained by means of conquering lands around Arabia. The impression of surrounding lands on the Muslim army is that they were strong, determined, relentless fighters who conquered any land they pleased. They had countless weapons and a drive that could cut through thick steel (Document 4). Despite these characteristics, however, they would only fight upon attack, in self defense (Document 6). The expansion of Islam was viewed by many as the most reasonable expansion of any religion. It was believed that the Christians were below the Muslims in that they fought whenever possible, and persecuted all other religions. Despite the belief of spiritual drive for conquest, some believe the expansion of Islam was due to the deep desire for a more modern life (Document 7); they were driven to settle in the fertile crescent in order to obtain these modern luxuries, rather than make spiritual achievements more primitive areas. There were many ways by which the Muslims conquered surrounding lands. Alternatives, benefits, and warfare were simply three such means of achieving such power and conquest. Religion

Generating awareness about science in India essays

Generating awareness about science in India essays Science has given us powers fit for the Gods. Science, systematic study of anything that can be examined, tested and verified. From its early beginning, science has developed into one of the greatest and influential fields of human endeavour. Today, different branches of science investigate almost everything that can be observed or detected, and science as a whole shapes the way we understand everything. Science develops through objective analysis instead of through personal belief. Science gives us a detailed insight into the way the world around us works. Today, science has a profound effect on the way we live, largely through technology the use of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. The powers of science are not used properly. Why? It is due to the lack of awareness. Awareness should start from the grassroot level ie. Villages and rural areas, because, they are the areas where the majority of Indias population lies and where the innocent masses are still in the grip of superstitions. Although internet and telephone connections have been provided to some villages by the government, a lot still has to be done in this regard. Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. Natural resources are being exploited. People everywhere need to think about this. For the purpose of awareness regarding this and many other subjects, various methods can be adopted. Lectures can be organized in schools, these children can then organize rallies in villages, NGOs can be asked to work only for this cause. Educational trips to factories can be organized so that students learn to use the resources judiciously. When you educate a man, you educate an individual, but when you educate a woman, you educate a family. ...

Process control Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Process control - Essay Example This flow is usually expressed by plotting the valve travel on the (y-axis) against the flow percentage under constant pressure differential on the (X-axis). There are two main types of the inherent flow characteristics; these are linear and equal percentage. A control valve is said to be linear if its inherent flow characteristics can be represented on a graph by a straight line. The flow is usually directly proportional to the valve travel. It is a straight line when represented on a rectangular coordinate of flow rate F or % F or Cv or % Cv versus or against the percentage travel at the optimum condition of constant drop in valve pressure (DPv). It can be deduced that an equal increase in travel rate or opening position, m, results in an equal increase in flow F (or Cv) at constant valve pressure drop (DPv). If m represents travel and F represents the rate of flow, then, dm= k dF where K is a proportional constant. Therefore the valve gain or sensitivity is independent of flow rat e and valve opening. Shown by; Kv = Df/dm = constant The valve gain (Kv) is the slope or tangent of the rectangular coordinate or plot drawn. The slope of the graph remains constant and independent of the flow rate. A control valve is said to be equal percentage if equal increase in valve travel or opening m (or Z) produces or results in equal percentage increase in flow F. If the situation emerges at the optimum condition of constant drop in valve pressure (DPv), the valve is said to be inherently equal percentage. The valve gain is not constant in this case but increase with an increase in flow rate. Therefore, when the control valve is just beginning to open at low flow rate, the valve gain is quite low and the change in flow is quite insensitive. At high flow during the upper portion of the travel, the valve gain is high which translates to rapid flow or sensitively for the same increase in valve travel. When plotting the flow rate against valve travel or position, the slope is flat near the initial travel position, but the slope increases drastically with the flow as the valve opens on the upper section of the travel. It can be shown by a straight line plotted on a semi-logarithmic paper for log F against m. The Quick open control valve characteristic is flattened in shape as opposed to the contoured valve plug. The flow of this valve increases rapidly up to the highest flow level with the least initial opening of the valve. In the lower section of travel position, the valve gain is so high for application and utilization in modulating control. The slope is then flat where the flow rate hardly increases with valve openings. Therefore, the Quick open control valve is restricted to a service of ON and OFF and in a specified application that needs discharge of flow. Applications of Control Valves Linear plugs are mostly used on the systems where the valve pressure drop in a major section of the total system pressure drop , where the valve is the major pressu re loss mechanism. Linear control valves are used in about 10-15 % of all applications. Linear control valves are also used in gas process. In the gas process, there is a large volume, decreasing DP with an increasing load DP at maximum load. The maximum load DP is greater than 20% of minimum load DP. It is also applied in the gas compressor recycle control valve. Also, the linear valves are
